hi @Ange661

Without a Satellite connection then the SKY Q boxes do stop working for any services - they need a 'Keep Alive' signal that is only sent via Satellite

 I am not too sure exactly what message you would get due to this and whether this is the message you have or whether the message you are getting is due to anything else.

When you say you have no aerial - is that,  you do not have your own dish and instead get the Satellite signal via a Communal feed (typically in flats/apartments)  or something else ?

I've got a satellite dish purely for this property it was okay this morning and we've been watching via itv x bbc i player etc but now it's not even letting us do that

@Ange661

I might be missing something, you said you haven't had a signal (presumably satellite signal) for months but then said it was alright this morning?

hi @Ange661

You said you do not have a signal  - this is delivered via the dish & as I mention the Q box needs a keep alive signal.

The boxes work for while - hence able to use iPlayer & ITVX but when this 'Keep alive' is due the box shuts down & does not allow apps or catch up to work

You will need to call SKY to get them to check your dish & restore the signal

edit: Alternatively please see the following page that covers a few problems - if you follow the link through and still have problems then you should find a link to book an engineer if you have your own dish

Your box will eventually stop working if it doesn't have a signal and it seems that has now happened. You need to get an engineer out. Is there a reason this signal problem has gone on for 3 months or have you just not contacted Sky about it?

I think the OP meant iplayer / itvx were working ok this morning.

but yeah clearly the sat signal being duff has finally timed out.

this also seems a very expensive way to just access streaming services.
