I have just upgraded to add sky hd ultra so that I can watch Netflix in 2 devices but it still won't work and only allows me to watch on 1 device , how can I watch in 2 devices

hi @Michelle1989

Unforunately to be more in line wit Netflix - SKY changed the way it charges & adding the Ultra HD add on does not increase the Netflis level.

From Mid December 2023 the levels are :
Netflix  (Base level) is the With Ads service  - 2 Screens in HD (list cost £4)
Boost to Netflix Standard - 2 Screens in HD Ad free  (list price an additional £6  thus £10 in total for Netflix)
Boost to Netflix Premium - 4 Screens  up to UHD/HDR  (list price an additional £11 thus £15 in total for Netflix)

you may need to call to arrange the switch
P.S. When you pay via SKY, you still cannot, currently, add the 'extra member' add on for use by family members not in your physical household that is available for those paying directly to Netflix

@Michelle1989 Hiya with Netflix it used to depend on what packages you have with Sky, as to how many screens and what resolution you get Netflix in but since December 2023 this changed to the following

Ultimate Package includes
Netflix Standard with Ads in HD
Watch on 2 devices.

upgrade Boost to Netflix Standard (No Ads). HD
cost £10
Watch on 2 devices

upgrade Boost to Netflix Premium UHD
cost £15
Watch on 4 devices

you need to contact Sky to upgrade

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

Hi @Michelle1989

All Netflix packages allow watching on Two devices.

Although for anyone still on the old method of charging the base was/is only 1 - so switching to the new base (with ads) would achieve the 2 limit

Hi @nigea99

As they changed the Q package (added UHD) then they should automatically be changed to the new billing and format.

Maybe, but the way I personally read some of the upgrade info I was not 100% certain that adding the UHD pack would cause the base to change (like some other changes would) - just that it would no longer increase the level.

I could, of course, have misunderstood the info

Hi @nigea99

The original Sky Signature Ultimate on Demand included two screens.

  • Ultimate On Demand includes the Netflix Standard plan (HD, two screens at the same time) as standard.

  • Ultimate On Demand includes the Netflix Standard plan (HD, two screens at the same time) as standard.

But there was an Ultimate add on which had 3 levels that wasn't the same as Ulimate on Demand - (although this is reworded slightly by me rather than a straight lift off from the old help page )

Netflix Basic plan (1 screen + SD) as standard
Netflix Standard (2 screens + HD) by adding the SKY HD pack
Netflix Premium (4 screens + UHD/HDR) by adding the SKY Ultra HD pack (requires the HD pack first)

I believe it all depends on when they first subscribed or if the Netflix pack was included in Sky Sigature.

For example my Netflix pack has Always been Ultimate on Demand.

All the following taken from Sky FAQ

  • Ultimate On Demand includes the Netflix Standard plan (HD, two screens at the same time) as standard.
  • If you want to change your Netflix plan with Sky, you’ll need to move to our Sky Ultimate TV bundle, which includes the Netflix Standard with Ads plan as standard, with the option to upgrade to the Standard and Premium plans.
  • If you took Netflix through Sky before 4th March 2020, you’ll have the Ultimate On Demand pack.
  • If you want to change your Netflix plan, or if you cancel Ultimate On Demand but later want to re-add Netflix to your Sky account, you’ll need to move to our new Sky Ultimate TV pack.
