Can’t navigate sky tv menu via mini box.

Hi, we operate a tv in our spare room via a sky mini box. When turned on we can obtain the sky tv menu but cannot navigate any of the headings / programmes. We are stuck on BBC1. We have tried turning everything off at the plugs and restarting. We have also changed the batteries in the sky remote.
