Can't download or watch Sky Q recording on my iPad anymore?

Why can't I download or watch programmes recorded on my Sky Q box through my iPad anymore?  Used to be able to do this.  Particularly wanting to be able to watch the F1 Qualifying session on my iPad as I can rarely watch it live and my TV is in use when I have the time.  This seems like an unnecessary block, as other programmes can still be downloaded or watch but all of Sky F1 seems to be inhibited.  (And don't suggest the F1 App because that is useless)!

Yes, it appears that it is!  Does that make a difference?

If you record any of the hd/sd (any uhd recordings will not play  out through the Sky Go app or mini) F1 on your Sky Q box, you will be able to watch those live as they are recording or later via the Sky Go app, when its connected at home to your Sky Q box.

Also, on the Sky Go app.
Go to the Browse button on theh Home menu, select Sports, chose Live Saudi Arabia F1 from the Top picks rail, scoll down to F1 On Demand and you can downlaod the previous F1 practice sessions, F1 show, drivers press conference etc.
The On demand of live sessions can sometimes take a short while to appear there, say an hour or so after the live broadcast has finished.

Thanks, lettice.  I see what you are getting at and could download the P1 & P2 just now.  As I'll be out when the Qualifiying session is on I'll see if I can get to this much later this evening.  Thanks for you help.

Just to follow up...the P1 & P2 sessions were available on the iPad, P3 didn't arrive until 1:40 am and Qualifying only brought in the highlights, not the full show.  Caught up with this Sunday afternoon before the race by watching the original recording on the TV.  However have decided to switch off UHD for now.

What about if you are paying for the service but working away in the UK and therefore should be able to watch on iPad .... but certainly cannot easily get home to connect to the box? I thought this was the whole point! I only have the option to download to the sky q box...  cannot watch on my iPad. 
I'm frankly so frustrated and annoyed at the moment!

Not that I'm an expert, but I did succeed in being able to watch F1 shows on my iPad that had been recorded on my Sky Q box.  My issue was that I had UHD configured on the Sky Q and anything recorded in UHD cannot be viewed on or downloded to an iPad.  So I switched my Sky Q box to HD and changed the repeat recordings to HD version.  This enabled me to view the F1 shows on my iPad.

As for using the iPad when out of range of your Sky Q box, I think the only options are to download previously recorded programmes when in range or just to watch live.
