Can’t connect to 5g only 2.4

Had super fast fiber fitted and can only connect to 2.4g sky w won't find 5g and the 2.4 struggles to download and playback

hi @Andy226 

 

If your provider is not SKY then, yes, it will only connect on 2.4Ghz wifi

 

Are you able to connect the main box to the router via ethernet ?

Probably because Sky don't want to reward you for using non-sky products!

Wired ethernet will probably get the most out of your super fast broadband

I think it's more likely that the boxes generate their own 5GHz network.  (Although some see it as 'punishment')

 

Regardless, the bandwidth on 2.4GHz is more than sufficient to run the box.  (And that band generally carries further)
