Can anyone help to get my moms sky working

General gist of what has gone on, lighting strike couple weeks ago blew out the the hub on phone.Openreach came out said they need a new phone base unit & also needed a new router from BT, got the new base unit got the new router logged most of the tech downstairs with new password. I got the phone working yesterday with help from chap over the phone Upstairs they have a  tv with a Q mini box attached. Hasn't already linked with the main box. Getting free view on it but nothing for sky except a banner saying no signal. Anyone got any ideas?  any help would be much appreciated I am at a loss.

Hi @hoopla66

Assuming the main Q box is working OK

,First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the mini as above.
If the mini still does not connect reliably try a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button.

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Re: Can anyone help to get my moms sky working

Think it was working fine until we put new router in place. Thanks for your input she can cope with free view for a day longer, 2 of us needed to reboot both boxes.  Will pass info onto her I will try reboot on Friday. Once again many thanks.

hi @hoopla66
If the main Q box isn't working

First reset your broadband router.
On 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
On 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

This should get the main Q box working.

Then use the instructions in my first post to connect the mini
