Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
All you need to know about cancellations, I think you can cancel within 31 days or 14 days if you are in ROI.
As it was a "distance" sale I believe that 14 days is a legal requirement but Sky have extended it to 31 days.
BUT Although you should be able to cancel Sky do not have to reinstate your previous set up.

BOB1234
Why cant they change it back to how it was at 12 noon yesterday ?
They removed a vital component to enable me to get Sky TV
If they ever take away the Sky Q box I have nothing
Do I report it as Sky isnt working ?

Why would you do that. Your system seems to be working fine.

Unfortunately they don't have to revert you but as mentioned we believe you should have the right to cancel your contract mid term
I should point out you are not without SKY TV - just you don't wish to access it via SKY Q

Well, quite a bit of content - the high profile sports mostly and big TV series / Cinema downloads (so maybe broadcast is a stretch). And the apps of course but the TV has them built in no doubt.
Suspect we may never see widespread broadcast 4k from the traditional broadcasters, we'll all be using streaming for eveything by then.
Your 14-day cooling off thing, what did the cancellations team say to that?
(p.s. I agree with you on Windows7)

Sky policy.
Sky+HD is a legacy system and Sky now make it available only in very specific circumstances.

I've read the thread more than once. At no point have you previously said you've disconnected the Sky Q box and boxed it up. That's yours choice but otherwise there's nothing wrong with the box. You just can't get on with it which is fine.

@Derrick241 You need to contact Sky again as you do have a 30 day cooling off period to cancel Sky Q
Sky will not now revert you to your previous system as they stopped doing that some time ago.
Many people feel like you do after only a few hours of using Sky Q as it is so different to the Sky+ HD system but normally after a few day of usage they start to get used to Sky Q.
Personally I'd give Sky Q a few more days usage and if you still feel the same then get on to Sky to cancel Q as you do have the right to cancel if you are still in your cooling off period

Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
If Sky don't replace the LNB with the one I had and take the Sky Q away, I wont have any TV, so this is a hypothetical question
Surely they would have to leave it in the condition it was in before they changed it
SkyQ requires a Wideband LNB which is different to the old Universal LNB used for Sky+ HD and Freesat.
(okay I have a contractor coming to replace the LNB anyway

Just to be clear a Sky engineer should not take your Sky Q box away (unless it's faulty and is being replaced), nor should you suggest the engineer takes it. If Sky agree to you cancelling completely (and I don't see why they can't), you will have to return it yourself using the boxes Sky would send out to you. Keep any proof of posting if and when you return it.
