As the title suggedts
can I go back to Sky HD+ after getting Sky Q?
Sky Q seeems to be a step backwards
I don't get reminders (this has been discussed lots of times, apparently there was a poll, asking people if it was wanted, I'd like to know when that was done)
I find the remote a bit chunky and confusing, I prefer the old Sky HD+ remote

Well indeed and nothing on SkyHD is broadcast in UHD.

Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
Okay, thanks
Can I change over to my Freesat box then?
I get the same on there as Sky Q and I am used to it
My Sky HD box died, so I was using my freesat box, Sky offered me this upgrade
(I get reminders and recordings on there)

Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
The LNB on the arm of the dish will have been changed when you upgraded to Sky Q. Unless the engineer fitted a hybrid LNB (unlikely unless you told Sky you had existing Freesat equipment you wanted to continue to use) they will have fitted a wideband LNB which is incompatible with all but the latest 4k Freesat boxes. If yours isn't one of them, you would need to get the LNB changed for your Freesat box to receive a signal.

Hi @Derrick241 You should be able to cancel your new contract as long as you are still in your cooling off period (14 days?). Don't hang about, give Sky a call.

Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
It was installed this morning, I spent the whole afternoon setting it up
The Sky fitter said he didn't have time to do it
He asked for my old Sky box, I wouldn't give it to him as I bought it when the one Sky gave me (years ago) died
He wasn't happy

Hi @Derrick241 I thought you said it had died? What use is a dead box.

It will be virtually impossible to play them now.

Not if I get this contract cancelled
getting it repaired and the programs on to an external had costs me 20 quid
i can then watch them any time

The recordings may be encrypted.

Re: Can I go back to sky HD+ after getting Sky Q
I'll be giving Sky a call in the morning to get this removed and the LNB changed so I can use my freesat box
i really can't get on with it
no reminder button, I have to record it, watch it, then try and delete it
(having no reminder button is a step backwards)
the yellow and blue buttons are a waste of time on the remote, you can't advance it 24 hours, you have to just keep on scrolling through each dsy
Freesat is as good as Sky HD, it might come better than Sky Q with regards to features on Sky Q
in my own opinion Sky Q is a step backwards
i was offered this free as I am a VIP, I think they are just trying to unload a large stock of unused Sky Q equipment

You'll get used to it but you'll need to give it longer than a few hours.

The reminder function has never been on Q. That subject has been discussed thousands of times on here. There shouldn't be an issue trying to delete a recording - just don't try from the continue section.

I presume you're referring to the EPG. If you want to move to the next days viewing just press the fast forward button ⏩ on the remote once.
