Can I connect my Sky Q main box to a 3rd party internet Supplier by WiFi Or does it have to be hard wired?

WiFi is fine as long as the signal is adequate.  There must be millions of Q boxes being used that way.

You certainly can.  There are many here that don't have Sky Broadband.  I myself use Virgin.

...but for a non-Sky ISP you can only connect using 2.4GHz band.
