I have had an issue with Netflix via sky q showing subtitles in black and so unreadable.
After a lot of investigation I found that if the sky q screen resolution is set to 2160p and 10 bit, which is what the sky q box finds, netflix subtitles are black, however setting to 2160p and 8 bit the subtitles are white and readable.
Any idea? The 8 bit selection works for now, but it's not making the most of uhd.

I've just checked and now the subtitles on 2160 10bit are showing in white as they should be.
Checking further the Netflix ui build earlier today was 20241126_34214_20_gibbon-r13 and subtitles were black.
It is now 20241126_34214_20_gibbon-r12 and subtitles are white.
I can only conclude r13 has a problem whereas r12 does not.
Hope this helps.

I have exactly the same issue - noticed it today, tried to watch "Senna" via Sky Q Netflix App - subtitles are all black (there are a lot in this series) and therefore unwatchable as the text is not visible. This issue is unique to Sky Q box as I have seen the series with white titles.
I am using setting 2160p 10-bit

Are you sure that you have not set your subtitles set to the wrong format. Cursor down, cog wheel on the right. My Netflix on my Sky Q box set to 2160p 10bit below. Is there a particular programme?

This started with me yesterday as well. Any other Netflix access NOT via my SkyQ box are fine. Tried switching on and off subs with no change.

Using netflix on the sky q box, I have found that the subtitles work perfectly on any resolution other than 2160 10 bit. One strange thing is that all was fine a few days ago and last night the problem appeared, nothing had been changed on any settings.

Perhaps they have reverted to default after a recent App update. If you tell me which programme I can test and I will upload another image.

We first noticed this on the Empress and someone has also seen it on Senna. Using any other screen resolution subtitles are white and clear, but 2160 10 bit they are and unreadable.
I first realised it was a screen resolution issue when I tried a different tv on the sky q box which needed a lower setting.

So what happens if you change it to white subtitles. Perhaps I have a different version on my box (see below). Apologies for the quality of my images, crystal clear on the TV.

Hi @MightyQuinn
Looking at the software versions etc, our device model is Sky UK_skyfalconv2 and the ui build is 20241126_34214_20_gibbon-r13, everything else is the same as you.
I have checked the colour etc of subtitles in my netflix account which is set to white. Making changes did not seem to affect the issue on the sky q.
The sub titles had been white, but on Tuesday they were black and I had not made any changes anywhere.
