All the signs point to it being a issue sky's end if it affecting quite a few users. I have seen posts on Facebook saying the same thing.

Definitely a Sky end issue IMHO. If you look here and on the Sky Q FB forum there are simply too many of us for it to be "dicky" HDMI connections. We had a situation with a non functioning YouTube app on SkyQ earlier this year that Sky were slow to acknowledge but had to fix in the end.We pay a lot of money for this service.  Keep pushing folks!

Hi just wanted to back up @Steviep1 . I started my own discussion on the community before I saw his comment but he and what appears to be many others have the same issue and his video is spot on. Just an observation, mine have all happened on channels carrying live sport from abroad IE cricket from India 405, and NFL from the USA 412, don't know if that is significant.

Just wanted to add to this thread to advise that as of 14:10 on Tuesday 4th November I am still experiencing the screen going black on the sports channels. Like everyone else, changing the channel resolves it for a while and then it happens again.

Chloe a "community leader" says that she is reporting it to a support team. So many people have this issue that it has to be a Sky problem, needing a fix.

My screen goes blank after a few seconds whenever I'm watching a live sports event . Doesn't happen on other sky channels

I'm hoping chloe will come back to us and confirm its a fault or at least they will fix it,  we all can't watch sports which is after all expensive packages

Same whilst watching SS Main event NFL Sunday night and SS NFL channel. Just goes total black screen and only get picture back after moving to another channel and then back. But it does then repeat, sometimes quickly, other times a few minutes before black again. Checked the usual, Sky Q power reboot a couple of times but same issue. Thought it might just be the NFL but happened AGAIN tonight whilst watching SS Main Event Football. Obviously Sky this is not an isolated issue as many are complaining..and we all can't have loose HDMI or Sky Qboxes. Was really angry Sunday being an NFL fan but gave up after 2 hours of problem solving..but if I am going to keep losing the events and sports it negates a lot of what I pay Sky for. I can't comment if it is happening on other channels but Sports definitely...screen just goes black,no sound, that's it..no need for picture sending. Please investigate and resolve as it needs someone to own the problem rather than ignore and imply it's just users glitches...its not.
