BeeBu internet with Sky Q.

I have an issue with my Sky Q TV system.

I used to have Sky broadband with Qky TV. However there has been an independent company installing FTTH. Freedom Fibre.

I have now cancelled broadband with Sky.

I still have SKY TV however.

Beebuu have now installed a new router and extender in my house to give me Internet and WiFi.

I have started to change over the Sky Boxes to the new Internet.

I live in an old thick walled farmhouse that requires Sky to install 2 boosters.

When I have just the Sky Main box connected

To the wifi via the Beebuu extender I have a stable connection. (Few hours) no drop outs.

When I connect a mini box to my Internet and main box it works for around 30 seconds and then the internet to the main box drops out and all connections are lost and will not restore until I power off the mini box from the wall.

I have carried out a factory reset on the mini box to make sure there are no problems with old connections from the Sky broadband.

I do believe that the main box connects to the extender and the Mini box is connecting to the main router. This feels like a possible issue causing the disconnects but I'm not trained in this area.

Because ive cancelled my broadband apparently my account is frozen and Sky can not get book an Engineer on their system until it is all resolved in at least another 7 days.

Please can someone shed a little light on the problem.

The mini has to connect directly to the main box if you're not using sky broadband. Yes it's stupid. It can go via a Sky Q booster that is also WPSed to the main box but not a normal Sky booster, those only work with Sky routers.

Try powerline adapters.

hi @Jon158

When your home wifi is not SKY then the if the minis use wifi they will do so using a wifi generated from the main box (they do not connect to your home wifi)

If you connect the minis to your network via ethernet then the main box must also be connected via ethernet (alternatively the minis connectd via ethernet directly to the main box) N.B. If using network switches they should be non managed
