When in BBC IPlayer half way through streaming a programme screen goes black. If I do nothing it stays black. Only way to fix is to put skyq to standby then switch back on, and then reload IPlayer

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

My new installation of SKY q is giving a problem only on the BBC iplayer. Whilst watching a stream the screen goes black. The only way to get out of this is to return to the q home screen, reload the iplayer and resume the stream. I am set to 2160 10 bit resolution using a Samsung 48 Oled uhd tv. Is this a bug or is there a way to stop this happening?

Same issue with Sky Glass!! Go to watch the latest episode of EastEnders, After the intro it will play for several seconds then the screen goes completely blank, but the sound is still in the background. Only way for me to get it to work again is turn off at the plug but then the next day the same issue. Only started this week

Over the last month or too this problem has started happening with me. Both when using the main Sky Q box and also with the Sky mini box in the kitchen. There's no sound either and the only way out is to press the "home" button and go back into the app. When you resume the program you are way behind and have to fast-forward to get back to where you were. This implies it's Sky is the problem not the app, since if you exit the app normally it retains the position of where you were.
Both the main box and the mini box are connected to the BT router via ethernet cable and the Sky wifi is disabled.
Any ideas please as it's a very annoying problem.

@RFS123 I have the exact same problem, starting doing it this week, both on iplayer and amazon prime on sky q. Same issue, screen goes blank and have to come out and go back in restart. Once restarted, its behind.
Did you find any solution?

I have the same problem, started this week. Screen goes blank intermittently when watching a programme on iplayer or amaze prime on Sky Q. Have to come out of the app then load again to restart the program I was watching.
Sky Q box is hard wired to router. Anyone found a solution? Seen a few people reporting this so possibly a wider Sky Q issue?

Been having the same issue for the past couple of weeks. Only noticed the issue with iPlayer app on Sky Q. Only way of coming out of black screen is by pressing home button on remote. As another poster has said, once you go back into iPlayer the programme does not resume at the same place like it does if you exit and go back in normally.

Yup, in the same boat here with black screen during streaming on sky Q, can happen multiple times whilst streaming one programme, very annoying!
