BT Sport App

A couple of people are saying that the BT Sport App has appeared on their sky Q boxes? I know that there have been rumours that it will be launching imminently, has anyone else had it appear ? Cheers

It isn't coming to Sky according to the BT Sport app dev team at BT:

Re: BT Sport App

We must be getting it though if it's under settings?

I wonder if that means if we download the app on the phone we can access it

Re: BT Sport App

I understand it will only be available to customers who subscribe directly with BT or EE. You will have to pay for the large screen app ad on. I currently get BT Sport Ultimate with my EE phone contract. I have to pay an extra £5 a month to watch it on the large screen apps and cast. So effectively I pay £5 a month for BT sport ultimate.

Re: BT Sport App

Surely if I pay through sky for BT,I should be able to access the platform

@Super+Anthony  To use the BT Sports app you need to subscribe to BT directly.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: BT Sport App

You don't get the BT app when you subscribe though sky. You get HD as standard and access to multi screen. If you want access to the BT app subscribe though BT or EE. Simples

Re: BT Sport App

I understand that but if we are getting the app now, why I should pay to use it when I am already paying for BT sports through sky

Re: BT Sport App

The app will be there for BT subscribers. Sky have a wholesale agreement with BT that doesn't include and has never included the use of the app. BT Sports is in Sky on demand for BT Sports subscribers through sky. I am struggling to understand why you would need access, one of the reasons you won't have access is that I would imagine it will include access to BT sports in 4K/Atmos, the current wholesale agreement between BT and Sky is HD only. You could always subscribe to BT Sports via BT either for the sky service or just the app. Why don't you do that ?
