Just for reference the Sky UHD subscription isn't required to access iPlayer UHD. You just need a compatible Sky Q box.

I had reset my box a while ago and just tried to watch Nightsleeper on iPlayer in UHD via a v3 box (32B206) and UHD had gone so resorted back to the tv app. I then tried watching Brassic (latest series) in UHD and it wasn't downloading in UHD (either fully or auto next episode I can't recall specifically). Then I remembered that I turned download from UHD to HD because I was leaving sky.
Anyway I turned it back to UHD and this morning iPlayer on my Q box now has UHD content again. Search his with it off (on iPlayer it shows a hand full of programs) with UHD downloads on same programs with UHD logo.
So in summary it would seem you have to have UHD downloads switched on in the box settings but of a pain if you only have free UHD access.
V3 2Tb box
iPlayer beta ON
UHD subs
UHD downloads switched ON
and UHD on iPlayer works
That said I've just switched back to HD and UHD content is still present but I do think it took a day or so to come back on so may not be instant.
worth someone else trying to see if it switched it on for your

Yes there are quite a few settings to be right, e.g. 10-bit as well as those you mentioned

I've read through this thread and having the same issue of getting iPlayer to work my 2tb box turned up today and the model is 32B12D is this a V3 box?

I believe 32B2** are all V3. I know my early V3 is 32B206

Thanks!
I'm struggling to get the iPlayer to show UHD content
Beta on
Best picture on
HDR 10bit on
4k on
I'm currently updating the software on the box and going to refresh the apps to see if that helps

It can be a pain but search for ASIA that's avalible in UHD and shows it in the image

No this is not a v3 box, the number needs to start 32B2
21 Dec 2024 04:48 PM
Ok thanks!
I've just gone into the system info for the iPlayer and it says the box is the 2016 model! I can't believe I've paid£100 for this crap

I had real difficulty getting a v3 box from Sky, as they don't use the version numbers in their stock control system. In the end I had to persuade the technician who came to install my replacement 2TB box to get a V3 1TB box off his van and install that instead, which he did after calling his office. There are lots of V2 2TB in stock so need using up, whereas most 1TB in stock are now V3.
Sky customer service were so constrained by poor stock control systems that meant I was a very unhappy customer for a while and complained a lot.

Hi @Dave-1234567890 V1,2,3 are only shortcuts used in the community, They will be completely unknown to Sky. The real names are ES140 = 32B0xx, ES240 = 32B1xx and ES340 = 32B2xx. ES340d9 being the 2TB box.

Yes I know, but I quoted the hardware versions 32B*** to them and they do not control stock by those numbers 😥

The V2 box you have is capable of everything that the V3 box can except the iPlayer ap.
As your TV is extremely likely to have the iPlayer app then we recommendusing the TV apps - I always advise others to use the TV app or on other devices such as Firesticks or Apple TV boxes as they are more likely to have other features such as Dolby Vision
I only use the SKY Q apps to check something out
Apps on SKY Q boxes are really only there for convenience
BTW I have V2 box

Spoken to sky, despite quoting the information above they didn't admit there could be an issue with the ES240 and iPlayer however after showing that all the options were correctly enabled and the box was up to date they did agree to send out an engineer

Very true however I much prefer to have everything in the same ecosystem and the TV OS can be rather slow and irritating. When you are paying £100 for an upgrade you don't expect it to be 8 year old tech being provided when they have never models available.
