Aways wounderd what Q stands for in Sky Q..?
Well its not Qtinum like in Star Trek The Next Gen or ST Voyager, I first watch STING and ST Voyager on SkyOne in the 90s(1995),(yes I had Sky then Sky+, just Sky with no Hard Drive), and watched Forever Knight that I now have on DVD.. :), you should bring SkyOne back(I know Sky Showcase is SkyONE, I think, whats Sky TWO, Sky Alantic, it called that becuase it show only TV programs from the USA, the Atlantic Ocean is in between the US and UK) as a anniversary thing, maybe in 2028 when your 40 years old, Sky came out in 1988, yes I know abit about Sky, I even have Sky's old Amstrad Fidelity SRD400 box on display, Sky Steam is sitting on top of it under my TV, the first box to have a viewing card slot built in, the Amstrad SRX200 had the Viewing Card Device plugged into it via a scart lead(I had one so I have been with Sky from the late 80s/90s) it had a big white dish, it cost Alan Sugar a pound(£1) to make each dish, he called them dust bin lids... 🙂
I like Alan Sugar but not his Amstrad Emailer, it was the worse product he make and Amstrad's downfall and why he sold it to Sky for 125m it was the end of Amstrad, but not really because it still lives on in Sky under a different name now because Sky sold the Amstrad name back to Alan.
Without Amstrad Sky would be nothing, they helped each other so needed for it to work at the beginging, Amstard for TV Box Hardware and Sky for Satalite TV and Firmware.
Sorry went a bit from the original question, well Q can you tel me... 🙂 its not Quality like Quality Street, I think it to do with the satalite signal...?
I am not a Sky Engineer but at one time wanted to be one or a BT Engineer... 🙂
I like working things out like its a puzzle... 🙂
I was a PC Engineer and fix peoples PCs by going to there house, Windows XP was known to slow down PCs over time and clog up the PCs RAM and its start-up and had to reinstall it for the customer, the only way you could fix WinXP.
I now work on Mini Retro Consoles(replica retro consoles and computers) and modify them with PCUAE - https://projectcarouselusb.eu

Re: Aways wounderd what Q stands for in Sky Q..?
No idea what Q stands for @spannernick1, but I do know the aerial port on Sky Stream does not work in the U.K., so you don't need to plug anything into it.
It is included as the same hardware is used across Europe and in some countries, has to be available and active on the hardware. Shame it isn't used here as it could fill some EPG gaps, but it is what it is.
