I have a hdmi cable connected to my Samsung qled tv hdmi arc port and this is connected to my sky soundbox will this be ok (haven't had any issues yet) or should I go back to optical cable thanks

Unfrotunately the Soundbox doesn't actually support ARC

Hi @pennydreadful as the Sky Soundbox doesn't support ARC I don't use the HDMI 2 ARC port by choice my Soundbox is also connected to the tv via optical cable as well for external devices like Playstation and Firetv Stick.

Typically that means you'd get audio from a Q box over HDMI to the Soundbox just fine: what you won't get is Soundbox audio output from apps on the television, or from any other HDMI device with a television input: those would use the speakers in the TV
