Anyone having problems with SkyQ in this bad weather
Every time we get winds or heavy rain now my SkyQ stops working and the message "no satellite signal" appears on the screen. Anyone else finding this problem - mine has been out all day

@HECdunoon
If you are seeing a message of “no satellite signal” firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s almost certainly a dish alignment issue so check the troubleshooting in this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.
If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise directly with your building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.
It’s worth remembering that a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels.

There will undoubtedly be others, but as @Daniel0210 indicates it's entirely related to individual circumstances, not a central issue.

Re: Anyone having problems with SkyQ in this bad weather
I was without all services for 6 days. An engineer came out yesterday and hard wired my Qbox to the router! It worked....my stress leel could now ease and have normality back. Both my TVs were up and running! UNTIL.....this morning the TV screen is there but not finding TV guide. Says no satalite!!!!
And it's Christmas with no further availability for engineers!
Good Luck to anyone having this problem and a Merry Christmas to all of you

Re: Anyone having problems with SkyQ in this bad weather
Cabling a main Q box to a router can have no effect on the satellite signal: that's an entirely different reception mechanism.
Live television arrives through dish and dish cable, not ethernet and the internet.

I find that happens when it rains heavily. I've always believed nothing could be done.

Re: Anyone having problems with SkyQ in this bad weather
I believe using a Zone 2 dish can potentially reduce the extent of rain fade, but ultimately a few milliwatts of signal is always going to struggle to make it through a significant volume of water.
