Anyone have intermittent issues with streaming apps via sky Q box?

Hi all,

Wonder if its just me or not, but I tend to use the streaming services through the Sky Q box rather than via the smart TV. However, sometimes they just cut off mid-show and the TV screen will go blank. Neither the TV or the box have been turned off. It bugs me as I have to press home on the sky remote and go back into the app, find the programme again etc. This has happened on Disney+, Prime Video, Paramount+ and Netflix. It won't happen for weeks and then it'll happen a couple of times a day. Just one of those annoying little inconveniences, also tends to happen when the programme/film is getting good 😂 Doesn't happen when watching non-streaming services. Anyone have a fix for this? Or am I doomed to have my programmes interrupted forever? I have rebooted the box and wi-fi numerous times already too!

Hope that made sense. Anyone else have the same issue? 😬

Sky Q is old tech. It was designed a decade ago. The streaming apps are much more modern and updated regularly. Sometimes the Sky Q box just doesn't have the processing power to cope with the demands of a high bit-rate stream from the likes of Disney+ or Paramount+. You're much better off using the apps on your smart TV - if it's a fairly modern TV it'll probably be better at streaming than Sky Q which is first and foremost an ageing satellite PVR, not a streaming device.

For the best streaming experience you need a dedicated streaming device.
