hi @Hussars

Have you looked in :

Home - SKY Cinema - (Scroll down) Ultra HD

Edit also Voice control "UHD"

Also probably best to set your default download to UHD :

Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

BTW I presume you have set your box to 2160p OK

Hi nigea99,

I am told athat my 6 months free trial, only lets me get UHD on Netflix, catchup and on demand, which is

very restrictive to start with. I am an 84 year old man, not very technical and just accepts what SKY tell me.

I appreciate your quick response, but I feel that this UHD feature will be a waste of time.   I tried 17 films and only one had a UHD icon.

hi @Hussars

yes all films & TV shows from SKY that are in UHD are classed as On demand because they are not live and you download them

On netflix there is a lot of content I think but I don't use it much to be able to confirm

For the SKY Content as I mentioned, first thing, is to make sure that your box is set to watch in UHD

i.e. the resolution is 2160p in

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual - Picture Resolution

As I say then try a voice search for "UHD"

Hi nigea99,

Many thanks again for your quick reply and advice. I will try your suggestions and see what happens.

None of this was mentioned to me by SKY. Thanks again.

Hi Nigea99,

My apologies foe ending the conversation last night. I appreciate your time and effort in assisting me with this issue. I don't wish to take up any more of your time, but in sumnary I can't see why users should have to hunt for UHD videos etc. I looked at about 15 videos last night and only found one UHD. Not being technical, is 4K HDR the same as UHD? At present, I think I will pass on UHD. Thanks again for all your help.

Please don't worry - I am happy to try to get you to access UHD content

First off 4K & UHD as terms are generally interchangeable  so think of 4K = UHD

HDR is a term that means High Dynamic Range - it gives deeper blacks & brighter whites - technically it can be used with both HD & UHD but on SKY Q (& most sources) it is only available on UHD

so it can be considered a variation

Some UHD content is available in HDR as well (so will be flagged as UHD & HDR)  but other UHD content is not available in HDR so will only be flagged as UHD

Generally you will only see UHD HDR content if your box is set to 2160p in 10 bit & your TV is HDR capable - otherwise you will only get UHD content

Please can you tell me what shows in the following setting :

Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version

Thanks @Hussars

That's great - you have the same box that I do which is both UHD & HDR capable

Can i ask is the resolution set to 2160 10 bit or 8bit ?

(Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual - Picture Resolution)

@Hussars  if I use the voice search for "UHD" I get this screen

UHD initial screenUHD initial screen

And if I then Scroll down to see the SKY Cinema 'Rail' I get this

UHD SKY Cinema RailUHD SKY Cinema Rail

The SKY Cinema Rail has >40 (I gave up counting) entries that are in UHD  or UHD/HDR

What do you get if you use the voice command "UHD"

So do you not get screens similar to those I have posted when you use the Voice command "UHD" ?
