All my recordings have disappeared

HELP!!! All my recordings, apart from what I recorded this morning have totally disappeared. I have checked my deleted recordings and that is empty too! I was only 67% full so not at full capacity! How is it possible for every single recording to be deleted?????is there anyway I can get them all back???

Reboot your box in the first instance.

Hi @Cazza4

You could try rebooting your Q box but if this doesn't revive them afraid they are lost.

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Re: All my recordings have disappeared

Hi Oldfella, thank you so much for responding. I’ve tried rebooting, however its now telling me that it's updating software (for the last 15mins)!! I dare not interrupt, but I'm knackered so going to bed and perhaps try again tomorrow - I'll let you know. Thank you once again.

@Merlin1999 @Dalmatian66

This issue is normally resolved by a reboot. Perhaps reboot your hub first then try
a reboot of the main Sky Q box, then once that’s back up and running do the same with any mini boxes if applicable -
~ Using the remote put your main Sky Q box into standby
~ switch the box off at the plug
~ wait at least 30 seconds and then switch the box back on at the plug
~ follow the on screen instructions
~ when the screen goes blank and the blue Q stops pulsating wait another 30 seconds
~ press the 🏠 button

Allow 5-10 minutes before things hopefully revert back to normal.

Hard drives fail like that.

All purchases can be redownloaded.

Re: All my recordings have disappeared

It's strange that so many have failed at the same time?
the exact same thing happens to me about the same date. Came here to see if anyone had any luck, it seems not.

Re: All my recordings have disappeared

And the same with me.
Saturday the remote stopped working - starting Sky+ took me to the acessibility settings page and couldn't get away from it.
Ordered a new remote and paired it, started Sky, navigates perfectly, but all recordings disappeared, so was it a Sky problem and not a remote one that started it all, or just a coincidence?

Refund for the hassle, expensive Sky?

@2gigmac the fix for the accessibility screen is

to try the following...

Unpair their Sky Q remote from the box by holding 4&6

Wait for the remote to flash you should then be able to dismiss the information screen by clicking on Skip & set up later

Hold 1&3 to repair the remote control

If 4&6 does not allow you to clear the information screen, try holding 7&9 to reset the Sky Q remote then hold 1&3 and follow the on-screen setup journey to allow the remote to control your TV.
