All episodes of Classic Doctor Who via Sky's own on-demand are the signed versions only - why?

As the title says, if you download any episode of 1963-89 Doctor Who via Sky's built-in on-demand interface, you always get the version with in-vision signing, with no option (that I can see anyway) to switch to the non-signed version.

Is this is a deliberate decision by Sky to only serve the signed versions, or is there some way for the user to switch between signed and non-signed?

If you take the extra steps to use the iPlayer app instead, you get the non-signed version.

It won't be a Sky decison, as the BBC are the content provider and decide what is available within their section of the on demand service. It could just be that the signed episodes were uploaded first and the non-signed versions will appear soon, but for a more concrete answer you would need to email the BBC and ask.

I have asked Sky for any reason or possible mistake. Not had any feedback yet though.

Your best bet to get this checked and resolved by Sky is to send an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it;
ViewerR@sky.uk

They do respond to emails with any updates for your queries or problems.

I've had confirmation from the BBC that it *is* Sky's issue to resolve. They were provided with all the assets, both signed and non-signed, but for some reason they've only made the signed ones available via their on-demand. This also does not affect just Doctor Who, it's some other shows as well.

Apparently iPlayer people are "on it", but it's ultimately down to Sky to address the issue.
