We currently have Sky HD plus, which has been fine for many years, however I am now looking to upgrade to Sky Q.
I have tried using the virtual assistant on Sky's website for answers, but it is beyond useless.
As I understand it, If I go for the upgrade, then the engineer will swap out the LNB in our existing dish, however, over the years, it has become embedded in our wisteria, requiring frequent pruning to avoid losing the signal. If I request a new dish to be put up in a different location, will I be charged for it, also, how do I know which box I will get?

A Sky installer will advise on the viability of an existing dish: there's typically no charge if replacement is required.
The default main Q box since late 2019 has been a 1TB UHD/HDR unit, if the order includes the Sky UHD add-on.
Without the UHD add-on it's been reported that Sky allocates the much older (2016) non-UHD box.

hi @Paul-Round
You should be able to get the engineer to relocate your dish without additional charge, assuming there is a suitable location with view of the Satellites
You may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q where I also mention boxes
Any further queries don't hesitate to ask
