2.15am and sky Q switched off my tv

Hi,

I’m new to Sky Q and got a message to say something like your tv will switch off in 1 minute due to auto power off. To keep watching press any buttons except the power button. Should I have pressed any button before the tv went off as I thought I had to wait until it had switched off, and now I can’t switch it on or should I reboot the Sky Q box.  And when it's working normally, should I leave the Sky Q box on at night or do I have to put it on standby or switch it off or something. I've only just had Sky Q installed so it's all new to me and I'm a senior citizen. Does this mean Sky Q is set to eco mode, and how do I get it back to working normally please. Many thanks for your time.

It does appear your box is in eco mode. This link explains how to change the settings if you frequently watch TV during the night. You will have to wait until the box fires up again at about 0545 to change it

Re: 2.15am and sky Q switched off my tv

Hi,

thank you so much for your help it's very much appreciated. I've now got my Sky Q box switched to 'none' rather than eco mode. Should I leave the Sky Q box on at night or do I have to put it on standby or switch it off or something. Many thanks for your time, kind regards,

Diane2
