Does anyone else find the battery life is terrible! I cannot get much closer with the chime and I am wondering if it is worth the hassle now... my ring doorbell used to last weeks but I have just put my doorbell back on charge it lasted two days, it's never lasted much more than that!
I like the security it gives at the front of my house and am debating downgrading my insurance to then pay for ring again as it's not really working out...

How far from the chime is your doorbell? Mine is 2 metres and I get "OK" signal reported in the app. My doorbell lasts for about a month on one charge.
Is the doorbell getting triggered by lots of movement? This will reduce the battery life.
There was also a firmware update late last year that fixed battery issues, so make sure you check that it is on the latest version.

How would I update the doorbell?
I would say it's about 3 meters the chime is in my tv stand (because of the cable needed to the router) and the doorbell is on the outer wall but there is a window between them so it's not just reading through thick walls if you know what I mean?

In the Sky Protect app, go to the Video Doorbell settings and scroll down to the entry called "Device updates". It also will tell you here what the signal strength is like between the chime and the doorbell (the entry called "Signal"):-
