Sky protect are making me insure other devices or my policy will not be renewed.
I was sent a letter to call a number saying I need to insure other devices to maintain my insure cover for sky equipment by the 15th October. I felt this change was unfair but decided i needed the sky equipment protection. When I called I was asked for my direct debit details over the phone - but surely they already know that as Ive been with them for years. I got worried it was a scam and stopped the call. Can someone please advise?

Presumably that's because you have Sky+
It's important to know that Sky+ hardware isn't actually covered by Protect insurance even if you add other devices to the policy.
Sky no longer replaces Sky+ boxes or sends an 'engineer' for dish issues: as far as they are concerned that platform (last manufactured in 2015) is obsolete.
Recent posts suggest the most they will do is offer £65 towards the cost of an independent satellite dish contractor.
It's also no longer possible to pair a Sky+ viewing card with a second-hand Sky+ box.
