Well. I've only been robbed once so that's a bonus. Thankfully it was only the £29'a month for 24months sky have charged .
The equipment provided wouldn't protect a stationery cupboard in a waste facility. you may get a connection to the door bell briefly but the battery has about 3 days life.
I do get that sky need to make a profit, and their tv, mobile and internet services are pretty good but this sky protect racket may as well have been put together by the people temu won't deal with.
my previous insurance was £10 a month but I thought a 'free' security sysyem was a bargain. I was wrong. This isn't a snap post. I'm 12months down now and considering cancelling my 3 phone contracts and sky tv I'm that annoyed with it.
no doubt this will be removed in time.

Unfortunately there are many reports of issues with the Sky Protect kit. I struggled to get it set up - and I work in IT. However it's been relatively smooth since then.
The doorbell should give you weeks on one charge. Is it too far from the chime? What does the signal status report in the Sky Protect app? Is the doorbell being activated regularly by passers by? Have you set up an Activity Zone?
In terms of the cost, I found the insurance to be considerably cheaper than my previous provider.

Thanks for the reply.
No, the chime is around 5m away and I have zone set so the camera is rarely triggered. I am just going to get through the next years insurance but bin the doorbell camera and go for a more reliable one like a ring doorbell!

I ended up having to put the chime about 1.5m away to get a reliable connection. I suspect that your battery drain is caused by the distance. Is it possible to move it closer?
I've no idea why the chime doesn't have Wi-Fi connectivity like the indoor camera.
Ring doorbells are much better. 😁

Sky specifically does not describe the 'smart tech bundle' as a security system.
Realistically it's a marketing promotion for an insurance product from Zurich with Sky branding: a clue is that using all, some or indeed none of it has zero effect on the insurance policy itself.
