Sky Protect
Ever since I have had Sky TV I have paid for Sky Protect on the understanding that if anything went wrong etc I would get help and not have to pay. I have had a letter telling me that as I haven't added any other appliance the Policy is being cancelled. I don't have any appliance that requires 'cover'. I don't have a high tech 'phone, security cameras, gaming devices.. TV & Laptop cover by other .
Is there another policy I can take out to cover breakdowns and call outs?
No other person in household, and no one I know about this matter
Thanks for this place to ask for advice

I'd think that's because your policy is being used to cover Sky+ HD, which Sky no longer offers support for and won't send out an engineer or provide replacement hardware.
There are non-Sky insurers around, but some have dubious reputations in this context.

Re: Sky Protect
Thank you for explaining
I think I have been paying for over 20 years for it
I have had a Q box for years - Seems I should have cancelled the policy
I do tend to over insurance.. pay for HomeCare etc.
I am on my own and Worry about What to Do when there is a fault etc
Must read the small print.

Re: Sky Protect
It was frankly rather naughty of Sky to continue accepting Protect payments from Sky+ customers after they moved to Q because there's much less need for such cover when equipment is being loaned rather than sold.
