Sky Protect Indoor Cam Reset

Hi folks,

really need some help as I'm genuinely losing the will with the sky tech products, I've already given up with the doorbell and now I'm having issues with the cam. It was working fine, on Saturday though the red lights disappeared and it wouldn't connect, the app kept saying reboot but it wouldn't reboot, I tried turning it off at the plug for an hour and restarting and nothing. So I removed it from my sky protect app and tried to re add it (this is something I have done with my Ring products big they play up), this however seems to have been a monumental mistake as now the cam won't do anything at all, I don't have it on my app and I can't add it back, it's so incredibly frustrating!

To add it back I need to plug it in and the yellow light on the back be flashing, but it's not, it's solid yellow, the setup button the bottom does absolutely nothing (and I've held it down so long it left an imprint on my finger!)

so how do I fully reset (not restart) my cam please?

Indoor camera not connecting

My indoor sky protect camera was connected and is now not.  I tried removing it and re booting so I could connect it, but it will not connect saying that it cannot find the network name.  That is if it will read the QR code.  I have found all the sky products of very poor quality and unreliable.  I can see o  the discussions that I am not alone with this.

If you have not already, within the Sky Protect app, there is a good help detail for troubleshooting Indoor camera problems.

Sky protect indoor camera won’t connect to WiFi

Cannot get indoor camera to connect to WiFi. Get message " cannot find specified network name"

have checked name & password several times? Still will not connect?

Have sky broadband and hub.
Sky protect doorbell connected and works fine.

Re: Sky protect indoor camera won’t connect to WiFi

I see people recommending to Speak to Sky on the live chat which is available via the Sky Protect app?
where is the live chat on the app?

From the Sky protect app home screen, click the ? top right

Scroll down to the bottom and click the blue support button

There are a number of support contacts and options there.

Have you tried removing your indoor camera from the device list and setting up from scratch again?

Yes, removed both the Chine and indoor camera on separate occasions as a test.

Both connected fine, before and after that test.

Would suggest doing the remove., then rebooting your Sky broadband hub and try reconnecting the indoor camera.

When connecting your indoor camera, try it about 5-8 feet from your hub at first, then if it connects move it to its final location.

Re: Sky protect indoor camera won’t connect to WiFi

Reset hub & all green lights.
Moved indoor camera to same room. Still will not connect.

Same message "can't find named network " network name copued and pasted and works on other devices.

This is extremely frustrating. While not an IT professional I am consider myself reasonably tech savvy.

It seems lots on here also have had similar difficulties with no clear fix or resolution.

Is this equipment an inferior quality product?

Also the advertised live chat option for support on the app is not easy to find? Does it exist??

I can see email address to contact and help guides that are not helpful with this issue.

Sky protect indoor camera wont reset

The sky protect indoor camera went offline and stayed offline.

When I try to reset it, no matter how long I hold in the reset button, the light stays solid yellow and doesnt start to flash.

IF it doesnt reset all the other sensors are useless.

It worked on forst installation.

Any ideas ?

Try the restart button in the app.

From indoor camera, select the gear icon top right and scroll down the page to select the restart button.

The camera will go offline and will reconnect, wait until 5he blue light appears.

Then remove the sensor for at least a minute and replace it and wait for it to also to turn blue.

If that fails, within the app under devices, remove the indoor camera and r3do the setup from scratch as directed under devices.

Re: Sky protect indoor camera wont reset

I was told to hold the reset button for 25-30 seconds. Till it clicks.

The camera now stays on yelloe (solid) and clicks to itself every minute or so.

Is the camera broken ?
