On the chime connect either the supplied ethernet cable to the rear of the chime, next to the power cable and connect the other end of the ethernet cable to your broadband router.

The ethernet ports on the router are usually on the rear of your router and most routers have four ethernet ports, except the Sky Q hub only had two.
You will not be able to plug the ethernet cable into a Sky Q TV box.

You do not need to use the supplied Sky Protect cable if it is too short, any cat5e ethernet cable will be fine if you have one or you can purcahse one that may be a better choice if you need a longer length.

Urgent Notice for Sky+ users: as of 29th October 2024 you will no longer be able to pair your viewing card to a Sky+/Sky+HD box that the card is not already paired to, so if your Sky box breaks you cannot replace it and you'll need to move to either Sky Q, Sky Glass or Sky Stream to access Sky content

@FelixandDotty if you donthave enough router ports ine the back of your router then you could purch an unmanaged switch a google search of unmanaged switches will find them for you

Yes, as an option for its own data connection, but a Stream puck is a simple WiFi client device and cannot be used to connect another bit of hardware back to a network.
