Rubbish Sky Protect security equipment.
Really wish I had read all the information available regarding this equipment. The doorbell needs charging EVERY 3 DAYS, and then takes hours to re-connect it to,the bell chime, Batteries in contact sensors (supposed to last up to 18 months) went flat after 18 DAYS. Really fed up with it all really as all my other security equipment works really well (ieGeek cctv cameras/3) I will carry on trying with it for another few weeks then if still not working properly will send it all back and cancel my policy.

I'd observe that Sky specifically doesn't call the Smart Tech Bundle 'security equipment': it's a marketing thing, and use of all or any of the hardware is not required by the insurance policy itself.
The version of the same insurance without the Smart Tech has lower monthly premiums.

Not 'my side': I'm a Sky television user and forum frequenter. Personally I think Sky would have been wiser not to offer the hardware (apparently they bought the company), but presumably a marketing person thought it was a good idea.

Re: Rubbish Sky Protect security equipment.
Hi, I have been a Sky TV and Internet user now for 9 years plus and have been happy, UNTIL NOW, as an ex Security Adviser, also a senior Met Police Detective until retiring a few years ago, I am really sad that Sky could have not BOUGHT a better system!! They have the money!! But look at the numbers of people complaining re Sky Protect at the moment, surely they could sort this out..?

Re: Rubbish Sky Protect security equipment.
I've been using all the Sky Protect kit since Early summer last year.
Have had no sensor battery issues. All the sensors in the app are still showing full bars.
They get a lot of constant use, motion and doors.
Thankfully, the leak sensors do not send any damp notifications, but they do update the temp accuractly through the day. I do test the leak sensors once a week, with a rub of the hand over the bottom, just to check them, but more for testing.
The doorbell for me each month lasts 29-30:days.
Mine gets a lot of heavy use every day.
Best to set your activity zone, you do not want it recording every movement and tweak the settings lower for recording activity. You only want shorter clips and a gap between them.
I always charge my doorbell via the Chime, overnight, about 6-8 hours.
It always resyncs fine.
I have left the doorbell battery go to 0%, a few times, to test what happens, so I can help others on here with happens then.
What you need to do when it's at 0% and will not show any of its sync or charge lights is put it on charge for about 20- 30 mins, then remove from charge.
Turn the doorbell switch (under the flap, next to the usb charge connector) to off.
Leave off for 10 mins, turn on again, it will now show its lights and sync with chime.
put back on chargefor 6-8 hours, to get it back to 100%.
For a free option, for me it has worked without issue in that time.
