New mobile contract insured with sky protect

I have just got new mobile from sky and sim I have protected the phone buy I don't intend to use the sky sim in the phone will my insurance still be valid? TIA

Sorry should of said the insurance I have used to protect phone is sky protect....this is why I'm now concerned that I have to use the sky sim for it to be valid

@Bex90 You would need to check the policy, however it's generally the device that's insured not the SIM.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

I don't think there's any requirement to be using Sky Mobile for the handset connectivity.
