Doorbell/Detection Notification Delays

Hi

 

I have had the Sky protection kit for a couple of week and cit just does not compare to Ring.

There is a delay of 3 minutes to any notification, if I get one.

The doorbell rings and the people have gone before I know about it, the chime is also too quiet in the house.

The chime and doorbell are next to each other with just the front door between.

 

Can I speed this up in some way or is it just cheap equipement that is not up to the job?

Sounds odd.

My doorbell and Chime sit 11 feet apart, separated by a porch with its inside and outside doors.

All I can think is your connection from your Chime to your router is slow and not passing on the notification to your app on your phone/tablet.

When you view your doorbell camera in live mode  is it delayed there also?

 

My notifications are delivered in almost real-time, perhaps a second or so delay.

Same goes, from when using armed mode.

Mine has performed like that for all the time I have had the equipment, since July 2023.

 

Within the app you can change the volume of the Chime, under the settings gear when selecting the Chime.

Must say it's loud to me and can hear it through the house.

Thanks Lettice, had the sound at the half way point for Motion, but full for pressed, so have turned them both up and changed the sound to something sharper, so will check later when I get home.

Never thought to check the live feed, the time on that shows less than 1 min different, so I'm guessing its the notification that is delayed.

I do not have an issue with the internet feed on my phone at work, the Ring notifications were as instant as thery can be, so assuming it's to do with the equipement.

Tried to speak to Tech earlier, but was put on hold and then cut off, will try again later.

Have noticed similar post, but with no real solutions to them.
