I would like the indoor camera to be inactive when it's not armed, but currently you can go into the app and view through the camera at any time. This is a little creepy.
How can I get it to deactivate when it's not armed?

There is no way to do this currently.
All I can suggest is through the Sky Protect app, you send a support request asking for this feature or call the Sky Protect number to request it as a future feature.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.

Re: Deactivate Sky Protect indoor camera when we're at home
Thanks, both. It seems crazy that this can't be turned off. I wouldn't have plugged it in at all if not for the fact that it's necessary for the sensor bridge if you want to use any of the sensors. I've turned it around to face the wall, but have found that the light on the sensor bridge is incredibly bright.
@Chimpishuk It's not the motion alerts that bother me, because they don't happen when the system is disarmed. It's the fact that it's constantly recording. There's something unpleasant about the idea that I could call the camera up on the app and see whatever my kids are up to in the lounge, or vice versa. It's intrusive.

Re: Deactivate Sky Protect indoor camera when we're at home
I see what you're saying, at the end of the day your private conversations are being held somewhere is SKY's proprietary cloud but it's not recording 24/7. That's not how it works. It will record based on alerts. Personally I wouldn't have SKY's camera recording my living room..mine is in my office because I have epilepsy and work from home. My wife can keep an eye on me aa some of my seizures require a paramedic.
Alternatively. Stick a load of bluetack over the mic and a towel over the camera. Admittedly not an elegant solution.
Is there a specific reason you decided to use the camera in the lounge? I've got two bay window contact sensors plus a motion sensor. The exterior of the bay windows is covered by door bell cam + additional cam

Nope, no specific reason for it being in the lounge other than that it has to go somewhere. I wouldn't be happy with it anywhere - it's just a lack of privacy.

Re: Deactivate Sky Protect indoor camera when we're at home
A year on and I've just connected my indoor camera and these same issues remain.
My solution, since I don't want intrusion in my bedroom when I'm at home, it's simply put an upturned individual empty and rinsed yogurt pot over the unit - this at least defeats the camera 's nosiness but there's still the issue of it listening
