Just for information, Sky says:
Once you have your Smart Tech Bundle, download our app from the App Store or the Google Play Store.
The minimum required operating system for the app to work are:
- IOS: 15
- Android: 9
We do not currently support Huawei mobile devices.

I can login to my sky account fine but the sky protect app gives a 401 error on first use. Anyone else get that?

Would suggest if you have not tried already logging out.
Reboot the device you are running the app on and try again.

Not helped - is it something sky can fix or is my phone not going to work?
I have an iPad I can try it on but it's a bit poor to find first hand that iOS app is buggy

The fix was to request Sky resend my ID registration email as my original sky id would not work
