Arming options and what they mean

What is arming?

While your Video Doorbell and Leak Sensor are always on, you can also control when your Indoor Camera, Motion or Contact Sensor are armed in the Sky Protect App.

Manual ArmingYou can manually arm your Indoor Camera, Motion and Contact sensors at any time to receive alerts from them.

When can I use? If you prefer to arm your devices yourself or want to turn your devices to record at a specific time.

How to: Go into your Sky Protect app and toggle the arm switch at the top of your app's home page. When your home is armed, the toggle will turn blue.

(Good to know: You can manually arm even if Auto Arming or Security Scheduling is set up and manual arming overrides your other arming options.)

Auto Arming -Auto Arming automatically activates your devices when you leave home and deactivates them when you return.

When can I use? This type of arming turns on when you leave the vicinity of your house which you can set in the app, so you never have to switch it on yourself.

Here's how: Go into your Sky Protect app, go to the Settings tab at the bottom of the home screen. Select Auto Arming and toggle it on.

The app will request permission to track your smartphone's location to automatically arm and disarm your alerts as you come and go. Your home's location will automatically appear on the map with a "radius" circle around it. You can adjust the size of this circle within the app.

Security Scheduling (Arming at set times) - Schedule your home to arm and disarm automatically at specific times using the Security Scheduling feature.

When should I use? This type of arming turns on when your schedule which you set in the app is live, so you never have to switch it on yourself.

Here's how: Go into your Sky Protect app, go to the Settings tab at the bottom of the home screen. Select Security Scheduling and set your preferred arm and disarm times. Tap Save.

(Good to know: If Auto Arming is enabled, it takes priority over scheduled settings. Your home will stay armed if you leave during a scheduled disarm time and will disarm when you return.)

Hierarchy of arming:

  1. Manual Arming takes priority over Auto-Arming and Security Scheduling.
  2. Auto-Arming takes priority over Security Scheduling.
  3. Security Scheduling will be active when neither Manual Arming nor Auto-Arm are turned on.
