phone paid off so is it now a sim-only plan?

I have paid off the device+sim plan that I was paying for 2 years. Now, if it is presumably a sim-only plan, does that mean if I purchase a phone elsewhere (e.g. new from amazon) and put this SIM in it, I will experience no issues?

Hi @ruggedrover  yes provided the sim fits and the new phone is unlocked to any network.

edit also be aware WiFi calling may not work on a phone not purchased from sky so bear in mind if you need that.
