only have my iphone 16 since june .. the battery ran out last night went to plug it in and wont turn

i brought it down to my local phone shop and the man plugged it into the computer ... it said the phone was charging but still nothing coming up on it .... the phone has no damage to it what so ever and was working perfectly fine till the batterry ran out. im in contract now for the next 18 months what do i do ???
