iPhone only sending sms and not I messages plus it’s reverted back to a temporary number I got

I left Vodaphone and transferred to Sky for my family (4 iPhones) sim only packages,

they sent new sims and these had temporary numbers, after 24 hours with the new sims in they then reverted to our original numbers we've had for years. Now 4/6 weeks on all the phones have gone back to the temporary numbers and also they are all sending sms messages and won't send iMessages

I can't see what to do

we all - unbeknown to each other got a message or notification from sky saying something like the phone won't use the original number or something similar but thought it sounded a bit of a scam so we ignored it - but have now realised that now they're not working the way they should be realise that it wasn't!!  we can't find the notification anywhere - not on email or message- we now don't know what to do

i turned my phone off,

I've taken the sim out but it won't change back to what we need

can anyone help please !?

Hi @PamelaG  a few things to try.

Go to settings, apps, phone, my number and try changing the number there, save, exit and restart. May take a few attempts to work. If that doesn't work try Go Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. You will need to set up your Wifi connection again.

In Settings, ensure your phone number is showing up in the phone screen under my number

- In Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, untick your number

- In Settings > Facetime, untick your number

- In Settings > Messages, turn off iMessage

- In Settings > Facetime, turn off facetime

- Restart the phone

- In Settings > Messages, turn on iMessage

- In settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tick your number

- In Settings > Facetime, turn on Facetime and then tick your number

IMessage and Facetime should show waiting for activation. You should then get it activated after a few minutes.
