Piggybank data

I thought piggybank data rolled for 3 years but half my data disappeared just before the 2 year mark.  Is this right?  Has it changed to 2 years instead of 3?

@Michellemag

So after 04/06/25 any data older than 12 months is being removed as per the new Sky Mobile Piggybank T's and C's. Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

Post merged into the thread discussing this.

Re: Piggybank data

Thank you, do you know when we were informed of this?  I can't seem to find an email about it.

March/April 2024 as it was included in the email or letter outlining the annual price increases.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

This is sooo annoying!!! I have lost almost 70GB of Piggy bank data that I was saving for years to cover some upgrades!! It was unfair to just take them away without any notifications (no, I did not receive that email last year)! The Piggy Bank feature was essentially the only reason I decided to go for Sky, and connected my whole family to it. And I am so annoyed by this policy now, that I am actually considering switching to another provider. What is the point in staying with Sky now? There are cheaper options that do exactly the same... :(((

Other providers don't have a similar scheme to my knowledge.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

I didn't receive the email either.  I changed my data contract on the strength of the amount of data I had on 30th may and the call centre agent didn't mention it at all, she encouraged me to do it.

Re: Rolling data

I agree. I lost almost 200Gb. I have a slight memory problem so had no chance of remembering this. A reminder would have made me act & my grandkids could have benefitted from my data. I think it's wrong not to give reminders

Re: Piggy bank data missing

I had 2000gb in mine and just had 510gb taken so spent the last hour putting the remaining 1500gb onto my 4 Sims so the expiry date resets and will be doing this every year from now on

@stephenspaul

If you had 2000GB in there, even with 4 sims, you may have be on a much greater data plan than you really needed?

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Yeah I know, it was when I first joined sky I had some cracking prices for high data Sims, I was paying £6.50 a month for 25gb x 2 and that built up the piggybank pretty quick.

It was planned this way so when my kids turned into phone addicted teenagers (now 15 and 17) they could make the use of it, all my Sims are on the lowest cost/GB now so we use just the piggybank

There has been a huge reduction in our rooked over data and we don’t know where it has gone

We had 90+GB of rolled over data from 4 mobile plans.
I have rolled over about 5GB in the past month. On 5th June 50GB was taken from our rolled data and I don't know where or who took it?
