Why am I being charged the first payment when I only activated the contract a week ago.
Hi,
I recieved my IPhone on Wednesday and I'm already being asked to pay the monthly bill a week later.
i don't think that's fair as I waited over 4 weeks for the phone to arrive. The sim was activated on Thursday. Therefore I should not be being charged for another 28 days minimum.

Re: Why am I being charged the first payment when I only activated the contract a week ago.
The length of time you waited for your phone doesn't come into it with billing. As you have received your phone then you will start to be billed for it as explained here:

So it is 3 days after activation or up to 13 days if paying by direct debit.

Billing is monthly in advance - whilst it's annoying you're not going to avoid it. (If you don't pay then your services will be restricted and you could actually forfeit any credit agreement and the whole amount will become payable immediately)
Alternatively, you could use your cooling off period and cancel and return everything.
