Weeks of data and WiFi not working, plus low signal

Apparently a mast was down in my area, but the checker isn't showing any issues anymore. However, my phone is still having problems.

 

It shows 4 or 5G yet the data won't work in my area, nothing loads online or on social media. When I travel, the data seems to work sometimes and I can use iMessage again. 

 

Sometimes the signal shows only one bar, sometimes it's full. I can still make calls and send text messages but no iMessage and can't send any pictures. Can't use any other messaging apps because the data doesn't work. 

I also can't connect to wifi. Our WiFi is through virgin, but this all started at the same time when the mast went down and everything else stopped working. Other devices connect just fine, it's not the router so please no suggestions to reboot it as I've already tried that.

 

I'm getting fed up at this point as I'm missing text messages and having to swap between phones in order to use the internet. Can someone please help?

Where a phone can't use both WiFi and cellular, doesn't that rather suggest the handset is faulty?

Possibly, but as I said this all started at the same time the mast went down. Plus the phone is only 5 months old and has had no drops or water damage, nothing that should cause this. If it was faulty from the get go surely I would have seen these problems straight away, no?
