Thanks but being on a domestic contract answers just the subscription query. The device was 420 so there's vat in there also as woukd be if you purchased in curry's, from three mobile etc? Or is there a different reason with Sky? Thanks

@SR742 Simple reason is sky have chosen to include the vat witin the total price charged.
Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
