Upgraded phone but old sim is saying phone number not active

Upgraded my sons phone from iphone 12 to iphone 15 - it wont let me add his number on messages, imessages etc - they only come from his email address - when try to add number it just has a spining wheel at the side of the number - message says sim not active with his number

I have switched from o2 to sky - requested pac code and submitted this but my old phone number has not been transferred over and sim says it's not recognised-

When did you give Sky the pac code as the Easter holidays might have delayed the number transfer.

It was sent to sky on Friday night - I did think the holidays might have caused a delay but it still has not been resolved today

So Friday evening would the same as you sent it to Sky today (the first working day after the Easter break) so it could well transfer tomorrow.
