Unable to transfer my old number to my new phone

I received a new phone but want to keep my old number. I've put the pac number in but it's not worked.

@Sapple  Are you transferring the number from a different provider?

 

if you are an existing sky mobile just your existing sim in the new phone , no need for a pac code

@Sapple In that case see the bit in bold above 

 

if you received a new SIM card don't activate it and it will automatically drop off your account after 31 days

I was told to activate new sim as previous contract was in a different name and now in my name. So new sim has been activated but I have been given a new number which I don't want I want to keep my old number.

@Sapple  Right in that case you can't keep your number unless you transfer it to another payg provider first then transfer it back to the correct sky sim

 

have you done this?

@Sapple  As advised you can't port a number from one Sky sim to another, you need to be using the old sim.

 

The only way to keep your old number is by using the old sim or porting it out to a PAYG sim with another provider then porting it back in to your new sim.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

When does your new number work as tried calling and said it's not available.

If you have activated the new sim it should start working more or less straight away but sometimes it can take a few hours. Does it show as activated on your account (where you activated it) ?
