Unable to set up Debit Card details

I am having trouble setting up my card details and Sky are threatening to take £5.00 if I do not. I have tried a number of times even whilst I was on the phone with my bank and they can see it is not my fault. I feel they are attempting to push me into taking out a Direct Debit which I do not want as I like to be in control of my money and I also there is a security issue as they show my bank details on the bill. All I get is a blank section after I put my card details in or half a form when authorising it with my bank thus the section I need to click on is not there.

The T's and C's you've already agreed to stipulate you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up, so yes Sky will be pushing you in that direction.

I have always had a continuous debit card payment set up but Sky took it upon themselves to mandate a Direct Debit without my permission and as a result of it saying I had no payment method set up I paid my bill using my card and then they took another amount out of my account so I ended up paying twice and they are in the process of refunding my money.
