Trouble changing phone number in iPhone settings after transfer

Had my old number transferred to my new sim today with sky, old number still not showing up when texting people. Trying to change my number in the iPhone settings as told but it won't let me save when I change the number?

It can apparently take a number of attempts before the number will save.

Something else to try is to refresh your network settings:

So go Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.Then go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone. You will need to set up your Wifi connection again.
