For the U.S. it should cost £2 for each 24 hours use of the home allowance. He needs to ensure roaming and mobile data are turned on in the phone settings and it will kick in when he sends a text, makes a call or uses a small amount of data. Set any spend cap to cover the total number of days he is there. Remember that calls to local numbers are charged extra at international rates and there is now a limit on data use of 25GB per billing period, after which Sky can charge the account holder an extra £2.50 per GB or even suspend the useage due to overuse.

Travel to USA

Just posted about this now I think I may have done it wrong. My son is going to USA for 10 days and needs data for maps etc. SO I switched his plan to unlimited (planning to switch it back again when he comes home). Will unlimited data work for USA or should i have just left it and payimng the £2 per day as he uses it?

Hi @LouParkinson  it will still be £2 per day no matter what plan he is on. There is also a 25Gig max useage when roaming.

@LouParkinson

I can see why you have done this but I believe the 25GB limit does  still apply I'm afraid.
