I transfered my number to Sky using a PAC whilst in the UK, and got a text saying it would be complete the next day. I traveled to the US and arrived the next day, and got an email from Sky saying the transfer was complete. O2 emailed me later that day saying it was complete their side.
Now the new phone and Sky SIM shows I have signal, but when I try to make a call it says "not registered on network". Before I left for the US, they told me it wouldn't matter that I was here whilst the number switched over.
I've tried everything - restarting the phone, taking out the SIM, resetting the network settings, manually selecting a US network, manually updating the APN, using the SIM menu to say I'm abroad roaming.
I can't call Sky as my SIM isn't registered on a network and the online chat isn't working.
Any help is appreciated!

In SIM manager it says 'unknown number' and then on my old phone that SIM says my previous number still - but neither work.

Yes that was what happened in the end. Although the Sky customer service told me differently before I left the country, when I landed back in the UK it instantly worked!
