Switching Dilemma

Wanting to switch from sim only Vodafone to sim only Sky. My problem is I have an iphone (11) and reading these threads is giving me second thoughts. For example the 20 page pinned thread appears still to be ongoing and the issues (fundemental to a smooth switching process) still appear to be unresolved after 2 years. 

Has anyone managed to switch their iphone hassle free?

Do we know exactly what is causing these issues?

Are there any tips to prepare the iphone prior to the switch over?

Like most users, I can't afford to be without a phone.

If yoh want to move your number to Sky then all you need to do it to order a sim from Sky and when it arrives activate it and get a pac code from Vodafone and give it to Sky and the number transfer should take place within the next few working days.

I had slight problems switching from 3 to Sky but that wasn't due to the transfer process - I had to manually change the temporary number back to my original number then restart the iPhone. Everything worked ok then.
